According to a survey conducted by OCTA Research, a large majority of adult Filipinos are willing to fight for their country in the event of a conflict with a foreign enemy.
The survey, commissioned by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), revealed that 77% of respondents expressed their willingness to fight for the Philippines.
The study was conducted from December 10 to 14, 2023, with a sample size of 1,200 adult Filipinos and a margin of error of ±3%.
The survey found that at least 60% of respondents across major study areas are willing to fight for the country.
The region of Mindanao had the highest rate at 84%, while the Visayas had the lowest percentage at 62%.
In terms of socioeconomic classes, respondents in Class D showed the highest willingness at 80%, followed closely by Class E at 68% and Class ABC at 67%.
