President Marcos has appointed Trade Undersecretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque as the acting Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), effective immediately following Alfredo Pascual’s resignation.
Roque, who previously led the MSME Development Group within the DTI, is recognized for her significant contributions to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Presidential Communications Office highlighted Roque’s role in managing key DTI programs and agencies, praising her for her dedication and leadership.
Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion endorsed Roque’s appointment, noting her strong background in both the public and private sectors. Pascual, who served as DTI chief since 2022, is returning to the private sector, and his resignation marks the end of his tenure with the department.
