The Land Transportation Office has issued a memorandum granting free medical examinations and courier services to overseas Filipino workers renewing their driver’s licenses.
The program is implemented through caravans organized by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Department of Migrant Workers in various countries.
Approved by LTO chief Markus Lacanilao, the initiative applies to OFWs who avail of license renewal services during OWWA-DMW overseas caravans.
It aims to reduce the cost and inconvenience previously shouldered by migrant workers in renewing their licenses. Under the program, OFWs are spared from paying up to P6,000 in medical and courier fees.
