LEGENDARY EFREN “BATA” REYES WOWS AUDIENCE AND COMPETITORS AT THE WORLD POOL CHAMPIONSHIP
Billiards icon Efren “Bata” Reyes received a warm welcome at the 2024 World Pool Championship in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Known as “The Magician” and widely regarded as the greatest pool player of all time, the 69-year-old was escorted into the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal City Sports Hall and engaged with players and fans.
Matchroom Pool celebrated Reyes’ presence with a meet-and-greet session, where he also held the championship trophy.
Reyes, the first Filipino to win the World Pool Championship in 1999, inspired future Filipino champions like Alex Pagulayan and Carlo Biado.
This year, Johann Chua was the top Filipino performer, reaching the semifinals.
