LADON SHIFTS FOCUS AFTER PARIS OLYMPICS SETBACK: PURSUING INITIAL CAREER PLAN

Rogen Ladon, a Rio Games veteran, shifted to a lighter weight class for the Paris Olympics but faced disappointment in his bid.

Acknowledging his defeat, Ladon plans to return to a heavier-weight division, which his coach, Ronald Chavez, believes is necessary to prolong his career.

Despite his efforts, Ladon was defeated in the men’s 51-kilogram division by Spain’s Rafael Lozano, while his teammate Carlo Paalam advanced to the round of 32 in the men’s 57-kg division.

Paalam aims to secure an Olympic berth, joining other Filipino boxers in Paris, while Ladon expresses support for his teammates. Meanwhile, Criztian Pitt Laurente begins his campaign in the men’s 63.5-kg division at Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok.
