On Wednesday, the K-pop industry welcomed two Filipino talents as girl group UNIS made its official debut with their first extended play (EP).
UNIS consists of eight members, including Filipinos Elisia Parmisano and Gehlee Dangca, who were selected through the reality competition series “Universe Ticket” which aired from November to January.
The multinational group also includes Filipino-Korean member Jin Hyeonju, as well as Korean and Japanese members.
Their EP, titled “WE UNIS,” features five tracks, with the lead single “Superwoman” accompanied by a music video. UNIS is expected to promote for two and a half years under F&F Entertainment, which co-produced “Universe Ticket” with Korean broadcaster SBS.
Fan signing events are planned in Manila and Cebu in May. Parmisano and Dangca join a growing number of Filipino talents in the K-pop industry, such as Chanty from the girl group Lapillus and the all-Filipino boy band HORI7ON.
