JAPANESE MINESWEEPING UNIT MAKES OFFICIAL VISIT TO PHILIPPINE NAVY

The commander of Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Forces (JMSDF) Minesweeping Division 3, Capt. Amano Shinsuke visited the Philippine Navy (PN) on April 29 to strengthen military ties between the two countries.

Capt. Emerson David of the Philippine Navy, representing Fleet Chief Rear Adm. Joe Anthony Orbe, welcomed the delegation at the Navy headquarters in Manila.

The visit was part of a goodwill tour by JMSDF vessels JS Bungo (MST-464) and JS Etajima (MSO-306).

During the meeting, both sides discussed future collaborations, shared operational best practices, and reaffirmed their commitment to regional maritime security. 
Capt. David expressed gratitude for the visit, emphasizing that it highlights the growing partnership between the two navies and boosts morale in ongoing operations.
