INC RALLY DEMANDS ACTION AGAINST CORRUPT OFFICIALS

Despite intermittent rains, thousands of participants joined the three-day Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) rally at Quirino Grandstand in Manila, calling for transparency, accountability, and good governance, with organizers estimating a crowd of 650,000 on the first day.

INC leaders emphasized that the demonstration is peaceful, non-political, and targets corruption and poor governance, not the government as an institution.

Security forces, including more than 16,000 police personnel and Coast Guard assets, were deployed to ensure order, manage traffic, and monitor for fake news or potential disruptions.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla and AFP officials stressed that the rallies remain generally peaceful, with authorities coordinating closely to protect participants’ rights and maintain constitutional order.

Organizers barred other groups from joining the INC protest to prevent interference, while law enforcement and military leaders urged discipline, non-partisanship, and respect for the Constitution.
