The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) continues to investigate alleged anomalous flood control projects despite its recent low profile, Chairman Andres Reyes Jr. said.
Reyes maintained that the commission is still functioning and reviewing cases, but declined to comment on its future, calling it “awkward” and “unethical” to speak on its behalf.
He is preparing a 140-day report with additional recommendations for submission to the Office of the President, while President Marcos is still reviewing the ICI’s earlier 125-day report spanning over 1,000 pages.
Malacañang said the President may complete his assessment this month, though no decision has been announced on the commission’s fate.
Two commissioners resigned in December, but officials said there is currently no order stopping the ICI from continuing its work.
