Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros announced she will refile the Dissolution of Marriage (divorce) bill in the 20th Congress after it stalled in the current Senate.
The bill, which has already undergone two interpellations, remains pending on second reading.
Hontiveros also expressed hope that the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIESC) Equality Bill and the Anti-Teenage Pregnancy Bill will finally be passed in the new Congress.
She highlighted the urgency of the Anti-Teenage Pregnancy Bill, calling teenage pregnancy a “national emergency” and criticizing misinformation that delayed its progress.
Hontiveros reaffirmed her commitment to advancing these long-delayed measures for the benefit of Filipino youth and families.
