The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) received significant new leads from former DPWH assistant engineer Brice Ericson Hernandez during his interview on September 19, according to ICI Special Adviser Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
Hernandez provided detailed and sensitive information not previously shared in other forums, which the ICI considers valuable for their ongoing investigation.
Although Magalong did not disclose specific names, he confirmed that Hernandez mentioned several new individuals linked to the anomalous flood control projects.
Hernandez was described as cooperative after being informed of the pros and cons of his cooperation with the commission.
Magalong expressed shock over the widespread and deep-rooted corruption uncovered in flood control and other government projects, with ICI hearings expected to continue almost daily.
