The developer of the game GoreBox has declined the Senate’s invitation to attend the July 1 hearing on the Tacloban school shooting.
While expressing sympathy for the victims, the developer said the game is intended only for adults aged 18 and above.
Authorities have linked the game to the alleged influences behind the Tacloban shooting and a foiled attack in Leyte, prompting its temporary blocking in the Philippines.
The Senate will continue its inquiry into the possible role of online games and digital platforms in youth violence.
Senator Risa Hontiveros said companies operating in the country should cooperate with Philippine authorities.
