Around 400 riders are expected to participate in the Go For Gold Criterium Race Series 2 at City Di Mare in Cebu on Sunday, with over PHP200,000 in cash prizes up for grabs.
The winners of the premier men’s and women’s elite categories will each receive PHP20,000.
Go For Gold founder Jeremy Go highlighted Cebu’s reputation as a cycling hub and emphasized the event’s role in promoting and professionalizing cycling in the Philippines.
The race, featuring a flat 1.1 km course, includes various categories such as youth, junior, age group, under-23, and managers, with the men’s elite covering 25 laps and the women’s elite 20 laps.
The next race, Series 3, is planned for Mindanao in September or October.
