Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said a “ghost hunt” in Taguig has uncovered several suspected ghost slope protection and flood mitigation projects along the Taguig River.
He said the alleged projects, including those that may involve double appropriations or were not implemented, are now being investigated by the Office of the Ombudsman.
Lacson and his staff had earlier submitted evidence on the questionable projects and alleged illegal reclamation activities along the Taguig portion of Laguna Lake.
Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla confirmed that his office is looking into corruption allegations involving infrastructure projects in Taguig.
Lacson also said several Taguig City government personnel were arrested after allegedly trying to stop Ombudsman investigators, stressing that the illegal reclamation case is separate from the probe into the flood mitigation and slope protection projects.
