Sen. Erwin Tulfo said the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee may investigate alleged irregularities in Taguig City’s flood control projects worth about P6 billion from 2022 to 2025.
Tulfo said former Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano, brother of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, is willing to testify and has called for a probe into the projects.
He added that the committee plans to invite other individuals, including former lawmaker Mike Defensor and lawyer Levito Baligod, once it is formally organized after the State of the Nation Address.
Meanwhile, Sen. Panfilo Lacson said he is gathering witnesses and evidence related to the allegations against Cayetano.
The developments follow a public exchange between Cayetano, Tulfo, and Lacson over the flood control controversy.
