House Deputy Speaker Iloilo 3rd District Rep. Janette Garin said she remains unbothered by renewed references linking her to the Dengvaxia controversy made by some of her House colleagues.
Lawmakers, including Cavite 4th District Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga and Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Legarda Leviste, recently posted remarks mentioning the issue, prompting Garin to respond.
She said attempts to revive the Dengvaxia issue only distract from broader public health challenges and noted that cases filed against her have already been dismissed.
Garin also expressed concern over what she described as the continued use of unverified claims and testimonies to damage her reputation, saying she will continue to face the issue through proper legal processes.
The former Health secretary, who led the 2016 Dengvaxia immunization program, has faced multiple complaints related to the controversy, some of which remain pending in court.
