Alex Eala advanced to the second round of the W125 Mumbai tournament after a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory over Japan’s Sara Saito.
The Filipino tennis ace is set to face either Nao Hibino or Mai Hontama, both from Japan, in her next match.
Eala is looking to bounce back from a string of early exits after a strong start to her 2025 season.
She previously fell in the Australian Open qualifiers and suffered losses in tournaments in Bengaluru and Singapore.
With five singles titles to her name, Eala aims to regain momentum and go deep in the Mumbai competition.
