FILIPINO-AMERICAN ATHLETE ROBYN BROWN CLINCHES GOLD IN CANADA

Filipino American hurdler Robyn Brown bolstered her bid for the Paris Olympics by winning gold in the women’s 400m hurdles at the Royal City Inferno Track and Field Festival in Guelph, Canada, with a time of 57.15 seconds. 

Brown is currently ranked 40th in Olympic qualifying and needs to maintain her position until the end of qualification on June 30. 

Fellow Fil-Am hurdler Lauren Hoffman, ranked 32nd, and other Philippine Athletics team members also aim to secure Olympic berths. 

Tokyo Olympian Kristina Knott and Rio Olympian Eric Cray, along with John Tolentino and Janry Ubas, have until June 30 to meet their respective Olympic entry standards. 

As of June 10, Knott and Tolentino are within their event quotas, while Cray and Ubas need to improve their standings to qualify.
