Karl Eldrew Yulo is gearing up for a busy year as he prepares to compete in both the Asian Gymnastics Junior Championships and the Junior World Championships.
Training under Japanese coach Munehiro Kugimiya, the same mentor behind his brother Carlos’ success, Eldrew has been honing his skills, including a training stint in Japan last October.
He will defend his vault title at the Asian Junior Championships in South Korea from June 12 to 16 before competing at the Junior Worlds in Manila from July 12 to 21.
His impressive achievements, including a six-gold sweep at the 2023 Palarong Pambansa and an eight-gold haul at the Chiu Wai Chung Cup, earned him a Special Citation at the 2024 Philippine Sportswriters Association Awards.
Eldrew, who hopes to join his brother Carlos at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, remains determined to continue his winning streak and make his mark on the world stage.
