House Speaker Faustino Dy III said the partial findings of the House infrastructure committee’s probe on anomalous flood control projects should be turned over to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) created by President Marcos.
Dy’s remarks came after Deputy Speaker Janette Garin said the infra-committee may cease hearings following ex-Speaker Martin Romualdez’s directive to let the ICI lead the investigation.
In the Senate, however, the probe continues, with Sen. JV Ejercito pointing to dismissed DPWH engineer Henry Alcantara as a possible “missing link” who could implicate higher officials.
Alcantara, along with other DPWH officials, is also central to the Senate Blue Ribbon inquiry, where whistleblower Brice Hernandez accused Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva of benefiting from budget insertions—claims both strongly denied.
Meanwhile, the DPWH has delisted A.P.O. General Construction after discovering falsified documents tied to a Negros Occidental flood control project.
