Actress Dolly de Leon and director Jerrold Tarog will lead the judging panel for the 2024 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.
They will be joined by critic Nicanor Tiongson, Berlinale curator Nicola Marzano, and Dhaka International Film Festival director Ahmed Muztaba Zamal.
De Leon, who won Best Supporting Actress last year for “Iti Mapukpukaw,” and Tarog, whose film “Sana Dati” won multiple awards at Cinemalaya 2013, bring significant experience to the panel.
The festival’s NETPAC Award jury will include filmmaker Monster Jimenez, producer Nina Kochelyaeva, and veteran Jay Abello.
Cinemalaya 2024 will kick off with a red carpet event and screening of “Gospel of the Beast” on August 2, running until August 11.
