DOLE URGES VIGILANCE AMID RISE IN FAKE EMERGENCY JOB HIRING SCHEMES

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued a warning about unauthorized hiring under its emergency employment program.

The DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) has observed fake hiring schemes circulating online, particularly under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced and Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program.

Jobseekers are being asked to apply for the program and are promised a daily wage of P800. The public is urged to report any information on individuals or groups conducting these illegal activities directly to DOLE-NCR.

Additionally, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has cautioned against a fake website, owwamember.com, and clarified that the official OWWA website is owwa.gov.ph.

The DOLE and OWWA are taking action to address these fraudulent activities and ensure the safety and protection of job seekers.
