Health Secretary Ted Herbosa called for a ban on vape products, citing concerns that the Philippines is lagging behind other Southeast Asian countries in regulating e-cigarettes.
In a radio interview on Saturday, Herbosa emphasized that such a ban would help protect the youth from the harmful effects of vaping.
He pointed out that countries like Singapore have already implemented vaping bans to create a smoke-free generation.
Herbosa highlighted Singapore’s success in prioritizing the health of its future generations by limiting exposure to both cigarettes and vapes.
He urged the Philippines to follow suit and take stronger action to safeguard public health.
