Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said the proposed P20-billion budget realignment for 2027 will mainly fund flood control projects, including drainage improvements and detention basins.
He said the changes were based on an assessment of urgent infrastructure needs following recent floods.
Regions heavily affected by flooding, including Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Cordillera, Ilocos, and Calabarzon, will be prioritized.
Dizon added that some funds will also go to other infrastructure projects, such as bypass roads that recently secured right-of-way clearances.
The funds will come from lower-priority projects within the DPWH budget, with the agency promising to make the changes public.
