The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has ordered local government units (LGUs) nationwide to display the Philippine flag in public spaces on August 25 in observance of National Heroes Day.
In its Memorandum Circular 2025-085, the DILG urged governors, mayors, and barangay leaders to ensure the flag is displayed properly and prominently as a symbol of unity and nationalism.
This year’s theme, “Isang Diwa, Isang Lahi, Isang Bayanihan,” honors the bravery of Filipino heroes who fought for freedom and dignity.
Official ceremonies will be held at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, led by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and partner agencies.
The DILG also encouraged all Filipinos to honor the legacy of heroes through service, solidarity, and patriotism.
