Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante challenged Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong to either attend the House probe on alleged flood control project anomalies or stop making accusations without evidence.
Abante urged Magalong to appear before the committee, submit proof, and testify under oath, calling him “noisy but hollow” if he refuses.
Magalong previously criticized the House investigation as a “moro-moro” political drama, sparking backlash from Mindanaoan lawmakers.
The House recently approved a resolution to investigate flood control projects linked to possible corruption involving lawmakers and contractors.
The probe was prompted by Senator Panfilo Lacson’s report highlighting that only 40 percent of allocated funds were used for actual construction, with the rest allegedly lost to corruption.
