DILG REPORTS COMPLETION OF GOOD GOVERNANCE TRAINING BY OVER 1,000 NEW LOCAL OFFICIALS

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced that 1,045 local government units have completed the mandatory good governance training for newly elected officials, with sessions ongoing in 17 regions nationwide.

The “Executive Briefing for Newly Elected Officials (NEOs)” aims to promote accountability, good governance, and smooth leadership transitions.

A key feature of the briefing is the Governance Assessment Report (GAR), which helps officials identify performance gaps and set priorities for their administration.

The training equips governors, mayors, vice mayors, and council members with the tools and knowledge needed to lead with integrity during their first 100 days in office.

This briefing also marks the start of the three-year NEO PLUS Program, which provides ongoing leadership and management training to local officials through 2025.
