A 32-year-old fisherman from Barangay Wawanway, Subic, Zambales, was found alive after drifting at sea for five days near Bajo de Masinloc.
He went missing on February 15 when his service boat, “Bebelot,” failed to return from a fishing trip.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) located the boat about 79 nautical miles west of Capon Grande, Zambales, following coordinated search and rescue operations.
Upon rescue on March 20, the fisherman received immediate medical attention aboard BRP Cabra, and his boat was secured.
The vessel has since departed for Subic, Zambales, to turn over the rescued fisherman safely to local authorities.
