DHSUD TO DISTRIBUTE AID TO 2,800 MINDANAO QUAKE-HIT FAMILIES

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said at least 2,800 families affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Sarangani and nearby areas will receive unconditional cash assistance through the National Housing Authority.

The aid will benefit families with partially and totally damaged homes in General Santos City, Glan, and Malapatan.

DHSUD said the assistance is on top of previously distributed shelter repair kits and cash aid, while validation of additional beneficiaries in the Davao Region is ongoing.

The department also continues to provide construction materials and temporary shelter support in partnership with local and international organizations.

Cash assistance is expected to be distributed in the coming weeks.
