United States Ambassador Lee Lipton arrived in Manila on Sunday to begin his diplomatic posting, the US Embassy announced.
Nominated by President Donald Trump, Lipton succeeds former ambassador MaryKay Carlson after being confirmed by the US Senate last month.
He said his priorities include strengthening US-Philippine security cooperation, boosting supply chains, advancing the Luzon Economic Corridor, and promoting fair trade.
Lipton also recalled developing a deep appreciation for the Philippines during his earlier visits as an entrepreneur.
The US Embassy welcomed his arrival as both countries continue commemorating key milestones in bilateral relations.
