The Department of Education (DepEd) has allowed school-based personnel to work from home every Friday during the end-of-school-year break from April 10 to June 5, 2026.
The policy covers non-teaching and related teaching staff under a four-day onsite workweek from Monday to Thursday, in line with energy conservation efforts.
DepEd said school heads must ensure that the arrangement will not disrupt essential operations and that staffing remains adequate.
The directive aligns with a government-wide policy under Memorandum Circular 114 to reduce energy and fuel consumption through flexible work arrangements.
The school year 2025–2026 officially ended on March 31.
