A councilor was killed, and a barangay chairman injured in a shooting in Arayat, Pampanga. Councilor Federico Hipolito and Batasan Barangay Chairman Lito Trinidad were attacked by motorcycle-riding gunmen after attending a medical mission on Tuesday. CCTV footage shows the assailants trailing the victims’ vehicle, firing when the officials were walking toward the barangay hall. Police Colonel Jay Dimaandal confirmed that the suspects did not dismount from their motorcycle during the attack. The investigation into the motive and identity of the attackers continues, with no statement yet from the victims’ families.
