President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inaugurated the 2024 Palarong Pambansa at the Cebu City Sports Center, where 541 student-athletes from across the Philippines gathered for the eight-day national sporting event.
Emphasizing its significance, Marcos highlighted the event as a pinnacle of national sports, fostering unity, camaraderie, and national pride among participants.
The games serve not only as a platform for inter-school and inter-regional competition but also as a breeding ground for future professional athletes, Olympians, and leaders.
This year marks the return of the Palaro to Cebu City after a 30-year hiatus, with the event scheduled to conclude on July 16 under the governance of the Department of Education.
