Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano used a Pokémon-inspired analogy during a Facebook Live to explain the current tensions in the Senate, describing political dynamics as “heroes,” “villains,” and “chaos rising.”
He said he was prompted to simplify the situation for his nephew after being asked about issues such as the ICC, protective custody, and internal Senate conflicts.
Cayetano avoided directly addressing reports of a possible leadership change but emphasized the need for professionalism and unity among senators.
He acknowledged ongoing discussions of “chaos” in the chamber, saying it can come not only from those who want to disrupt order but also from those resisting change.
He also urged the public to reflect and pray, stressing that leadership outcomes should be seen as part of a larger plan while focusing on serving the Filipino people.
