BLACKPINK was among the esteemed guests at a state banquet hosted by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in honor of South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. The event marked 140 years of diplomatic ties between South Korea and the United Kingdom.
The king commended the group for their role as ambassadors for COP26 and their advocacy for the UN’s sustainable development goals. He also praised the cultural exchange between the two countries.
Other notable guests included British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and members of the royal family, such as Prince William and his wife Kate.
Suk-yeol is one of the first world leaders that Charles III has hosted since his coronation last May.
President Suk-yeol’s state visit is expected to strengthen ties between South Korea and the UK. The two countries are expected to collaborate on a number of issues, including trade, defense, and climate change.
