Days before heading to Hangzhou for the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series, the Philippine Volcanoes held a rugby clinic for over 25 Aeta youth in Capas, Tarlac, as part of the “Empowering Youth, Celebrating Heritage” program.
The event, organized with the BCDA Group and UK Maharlikans, combined cultural education led by UP Professor Florencia Imperial-Sebastian with hands-on rugby training from the national team.
Despite being sidelined by illness, Volcanoes captain Kai Stroem expressed strong support, emphasizing the program’s importance beyond sports to inspiring and giving back to the youth.
Participants also received food packs, health kits, and clothing donated by global rugby communities, highlighting solidarity with the Philippines.
The Volcanoes are now preparing to compete in Hangzhou, continuing their mission to promote rugby values of discipline, respect, unity, and pride in heritage.
