The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has issued a warning against the use of vaping products containing marijuana oil, emphasizing its illegality and health risks.
Recent anti-illegal drug operations have uncovered a surge in marijuana-laced electronic cigarettes in the Philippine market.
Two individuals were apprehended in Taguig City, leading to the confiscation of cannabis oil, marijuana kush, and assorted vaping devices valued at P842,000.
Additionally, PDEA and the Bureau of Customs seized 18 balikbayan boxes containing cannabis oil and marijuana kush worth P337 million at the Port Area, Manila.
PDEA expressed concern that these products, appealing to youth due to the popularity of vaping, could be misconstrued as legitimate vape aerosols and sold to younger consumers.
Warning against the health hazards and legal repercussions, PDEA urged the public to refrain from purchasing marijuana-laced e-cigarettes.
The agency pledged to intensify monitoring efforts to identify physical and online vape shops selling prohibited substances and called for tighter regulations from regulating bodies to curb the proliferation of such items.
