Bayan Muna urged the public to participate in the White Ribbon Campaign on Easter Sunday, a symbolic initiative calling for justice for victims of alleged extrajudicial killings (EJKs) and human rights violations, particularly under former President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.
Former Bayan Muna Congressman Neri Colmenares invited supporters to post pictures or videos of themselves tying white ribbons in public spaces and to distribute them in crowded areas to raise awareness.
Colmenares emphasized that the campaign carries both political and moral messages, highlighting the need to defend human rights and uphold the dignity of life.
He also linked the campaign to the Easter message of hope, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the demand for justice for EJK victims.
Duterte, who is facing trial for crimes against humanity related to his drug war, was arrested in March and is currently in The Hague for his pretrial hearings.
