Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte has filed a disbarment complaint against Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, and two other DOJ officials over their role in enforcing the ICC arrest warrant against his father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.
The complaint, prepared by lawyer Israelito Torreon, was filed at the Supreme Court on October 2.
It targets officials involved in the March 11 arrest of Duterte at Ninoy Aquino International Airport following the ICC warrant.
Remulla dismissed the complaint as expected, while Prosecutor General Anthony Fadullon said he has yet to receive the complaint to comment.
This follows earlier criminal and administrative charges filed by Duterte against Remulla and others with the Office of the Ombudsman, despite Remulla’s recent clearance by the agency.
