ANGARA APPOINTED AS NEW DEPED SECRETARY

Senator Sonny Angara will replace Vice President Sara Duterte as the new Education Secretary, starting July 19, the Palace announced Tuesday.

Vice President Duterte resigned as DepEd chief on June 19, citing compassion for teachers and students as her reason.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced Angara’s appointment during the 17th Cabinet Meeting, emphasizing the importance of the Department of Education and the need for strong leadership.

Angara expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and committed to ensuring quality education for all Filipino children.

He also acknowledged Duterte’s contributions and looks forward to building on her accomplishments.
