Suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo remains in the Philippines, according to DOJ Assistant Secretary Jose Dominic Clavano IV.
Clavano confirmed that Guo has not left the country based on information from various agencies.
Despite reported sightings of her in Bulacan before the Senate’s arrest order on July 11, Guo remains subject to investigation for alleged links to a raided Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) in Bamban, Tarlac.
The Senate issued the arrest order after Guo and others missed a July 10 hearing on Pogo operations.
Additionally, questions about Guo’s citizenship arose during a Senate inquiry, with concerns about discrepancies in her birth registration.
