Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong criticized Vice President Sara Duterte’s recent remarks, which he deemed “politicized” and divisive towards the Muslim community.
Duterte’s statements, which addressed disaster preparedness, healthcare, and law enforcement, were viewed by Adiong as undermining the efforts of President Marcos, who has been actively addressing national challenges.
Adiong argued that Duterte’s comments sow division rather than contribute to progress, and he emphasized the President’s commitment to addressing crises, including the recent Typhoon “Carina” and heavy monsoon rains.
He also called on Duterte to engage constructively in improving the nation’s disaster resilience and public safety.
Adiong urged the Vice President to focus on contributing positively to national progress, regardless of regional or religious differences.
