The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairperson, George Garcia, announced that approximately 750,000 individuals have registered for the 2025 midterm elections.
This number reflects the registrations as of Wednesday. Garcia expressed surprise at the high turnout, noting that in previous years, fewer people registered during the initial days or weeks of the registration period.
However, the current registration period has seen a significant increase in people visiting registration sites.
The Comelec recently launched the Register Anywhere Program (RAP) to facilitate more convenient and accessible registration for the public.
The program aims to encourage more individuals to participate in the electoral process. The Comelec is committed to ensuring a clean and updated list of voters for the upcoming elections in 2025.
