More than 300 athletes from 15 countries will compete in the inaugural 5150 FAB Triathlon on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Freeport Area of Bataan, featuring a challenging Olympic-distance course.
The race includes a 1.5km swim at Camaya Coast, a 40km bike ride through Bagac-Mariveles Road, and a 10km two-loop run at FAB Gym, designed to test endurance, strategy, and mental toughness.
While several national team athletes withdrew to focus on the upcoming SEA Games, notable competitors such as IRONMAN veterans Harold Baco, Jojo Macalintal, and Vanessa Agdon remain in the field.
The event also includes the Sunrise Sprint for beginners, promoting wider participation and celebrating the triathlon season’s finale.
Organizers emphasized that the race not only challenges athletes but also highlights Bataan’s potential as a sports tourism destination, combining scenic routes with community engagement.
