Forty Filipino seafarers were confirmed safe after their vessel, First Margaux, collided with a China-registered fishing vessel in the Singapore Strait on Sept. 17.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said none of the Filipino crew members were injured.
The Department of Migrant Workers is coordinating with the seafarers’ families and gathering more information from the vessel’s manning agency.
The vessel was towed to Raffles Reserved Anchorage for assessment, with some crew members transferred to shore.
Singapore authorities reported no injuries, pollution, or disruption to maritime traffic from the collision.
