Education Secretary Sonny Angara has ordered the full implementation of the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) curriculum in all public and private schools starting school year 2026–2027 to boost graduate employability.
Under DepEd Memorandum 012, the curriculum introduces structural, instructional, and content reforms to enhance foundational skills, expand learner choice, and align competencies with higher education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
The strengthened program, piloted in 891 schools for Grade 11 in SY 2025–2026, will now be extended to Grade 12 learners.
DepEd offices at all governance levels are tasked to undertake preparatory activities, including curriculum mapping, teacher training, and coordination with partners to ensure smooth rollout.
Technical assistance packages, guidance on workforce management, and training modules for core subjects and electives will be made available online to support schools.
