Vice President Sara Duterte has been served the Senate impeachment summons and received the articles of impeachment, her office confirmed on May 20.
The Office of the Vice President said the documents were delivered at around 10:40 a.m. but gave no further details on her response.
Duterte has until May 30 to file her answer, after which the Senate will enter a plea of not guilty on her behalf if she fails to respond.
She previously skipped House hearings, saying she would address the allegations before the Senate impeachment court.
The impeachment trial is expected to begin in June.
