First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos highlighted the strengthening friendship between the Philippines and Japan ahead of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s upcoming state visit to Tokyo.
In a Facebook post, she described a dinner hosted by Japanese Ambassador Endo Kazuya as a warm evening of friendship, featuring a “Japanese sinigang” that symbolized cultural exchange between the two countries.
The intimate gathering underscored growing people-to-people ties as preparations continue for the official visit from May 26 to 29.
During the trip, President Marcos is expected to meet Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to discuss security, energy, and economic cooperation.
The visit also marks 70 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan, highlighting their long-standing partnership.
