Veteran actor Tonton Gutierrez expressed pride in supporting lead actors with Down Syndrome in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 entry, I’mPerfect, directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo.
The film follows Jiro and Jessica, portrayed by Earl Amaba and Krystel Go, as they navigate daily life and romance, with Tonton playing Jiro’s father.
Despite communication challenges on set, Gutierrez praised the dedication and talent of the young actors, noting their energy and commitment to the craft.
He said the experience highlighted the capabilities of people with Down Syndrome and emphasized the importance of empathy, inclusion, and treating them as normal individuals.
I’mPerfect, along with seven other MMFF entries, will premiere in cinemas nationwide on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
