President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed lawyer Christian Lel Saquilabon as undersecretary of the Department of Health (DOH).
Saquilabon previously served as DOH assistant secretary and head of the Health Regulation and Facility Development Cluster since July 2025.
His appointment follows the courtesy resignation of Emmie Liza Perez-Chiong.
Perez-Chiong said she resigned after Health Secretary Jose Pujalte Jr. asked DOH executive committee members to step down to make way for new leadership.
Pujalte took over as health secretary in July following the courtesy resignation of Teodoro Herbosa.
